Editorial Policy

Cam-Rank is an independent review publication covering live adult cam sites. This page documents the editorial standards, conflict-of-interest disclosures, and ranking methodology that govern every review we publish. If we ever fall short of these standards, our readers — and the platforms we cover — are entitled to call us on it.

Who We Are

Cam-Rank is operated by a small editorial team of researchers and reviewers based across multiple time zones. The team has been covering the live cam industry continuously since 2024 and has tested every major platform listed on this site with our own accounts and our own money. We publish under the collective byline Cam-Rank Editorial Team rather than under individual names — this is a deliberate privacy choice given the nature of the industry, not an attempt to hide accountability. Editorial decisions are made by consensus within the team.

How We Are Funded

Cam-Rank uses affiliate links. When a reader clicks one of our outbound buttons (the /visit/{platform}/ links throughout the site) and signs up for a paid service, the platform pays us a commission. This is the only source of revenue that funds our reviews.

To make this work without compromising our reviews, we follow three hard rules:

• No platform pays us for a positive review. Affiliate commissions are paid on the same standard rate to every reviewer in their program. Our score for a platform is identical to what we would give if the platform did not run an affiliate program at all.
• Body content is ad-free. We never embed affiliate links inline within review prose. Every commercial link appears only at the explicit "Sign Up" or "Visit" call-to-action button at the bottom of a review (or in clearly-labeled comparison hubs).
• Negative reviews stay negative. We have published unfavorable findings about platforms that pay us commission, and we have removed CTA buttons from sections of guides where the available platforms didn't deserve a recommendation. If you spot an example where a poor rating is contradicted by a top-tier ranking, please email us.

How We Rank Cam Sites

Every site we review is scored out of 10 across nine weighted dimensions:

1. Model variety and quantity (15%) — How many performers are typically live, what's the diversity by region/attribute, and how busy is the catalog at peak hours.
2. Pricing transparency and value (15%) — Are token rates and minute pricing easy to find? How does the cost-per-minute of a private show compare to industry medians?
3. Free experience quality (12%) — For freemium sites, how usable is the free experience without paying? For premium sites, how informative is the free preview?
4. Show types and features (12%) — Private, spy, group, cam2cam, Lovense interactive, VR, recordings.
5. Stream quality (10%) — Resolution (1080p / 4K), frame rate, latency, audio.
6. Mobile experience (10%) — Native app or responsive web, feature parity with desktop, payment friction.
7. Payment options and discretion (10%) — Card, crypto, regional payment methods, billing descriptor on credit card statements.
8. Safety and moderation (8%) — Age-verification quality, model identity verification, response time to abuse reports, history of breaches and how they were handled.
9. Customer support (8%) — Availability (24/7?), channels (live chat, email, phone), response time, resolution quality.

Each dimension is scored 1-10 independently, weighted, and summed to a final composite. Scores are not curved — a site that scores 4/10 on Mobile drags the composite, period. Rankings are updated when our hands-on testing produces evidence that the score should change (after a major site update, after a security incident, after extended re-testing). Stale scores from a year ago that haven't been re-validated are explicitly marked as such.

How We Test

For every review we publish:

• We create a fresh account on the platform with a new email and a real payment method.
• We spend a minimum of $50 of our own money testing the paid tiers (private shows, premium memberships, token packages). This spend is disclosed in the "How We Tested" section of every review.
• We test the platform on both desktop and mobile, with at least three model interactions per show type the site offers.
• We attempt at least one customer support contact (account question, refund inquiry, or technical issue) and document the response time and resolution.
• We re-test annually for platforms in our top-10, semi-annually for the rest.

What We Will Not Do

• We do not publish reviews of platforms that do not verify the age of their performers, period. If a site is unable to demonstrate adult-only performer status, it is excluded from coverage even if asked.
• We do not link to "free token generators," "premium account hacks," or any tool whose function is to defraud cam platforms or their performers. These are scams that harm both viewers (malware, account theft) and the broader industry.
• We do not recommend using VPNs to bypass region restrictions in ways that violate the platform's terms of service.
• We do not host or link to non-consensual recordings of model streams. Cam shows are paid live performances and their recording for redistribution is theft.

Corrections and Complaints

If you find a factual error in any of our reviews — a wrong price, a missing payment method, a model count that's a year out of date — please write to us. We correct first, apologize second, and add a dated "Corrected on YYYY-MM-DD" footer to the affected article rather than silently editing.

Privacy

We do not collect personal information about our readers beyond standard server-side analytics (anonymized IP, page views). We do not share data with the platforms we cover.
